Dear colleagues and friends,
It is our great honour to host the 3rd German Pharm-Tox Summit in Göttingen from February 26th to March 1 st 2018. As in the past years, the conference will be held by the German Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (DGPT) together with the Association of Clinical Pharmacology (VKliPha) and the Association for Applied Human Pharmacology (AGAH). With the excellent support by Conventus, we will do everythingto make the German Pharm-Tox Summit 2018 a memorable event. The City of Göttingen, mentioned for the first time in 953 as Gutingi, has been a city of science for more than 200 years.
Famous scientists like Karl-Friedrich Gauss have carried out their research in Göttingen. Altogether 44 Nobel laureates, including Robert Koch in 1905 and more recently Stefan Hell in 2014, have collectively framed the „Nobelpreiswunder“ of Göttingen. The Georg-August University with its 30,000 students, five Max-Planck-Institutes and other renowned research institutions with a large community of international scientists create a truly scholarly atmosphere in Göttingen.
Göttingen is located in the beautiful landscape environment of the German Fairy Tale Route. Its well-preserved historic old city is remarkable for its many half-timbered houses and other buildings quite a few of them being older than 500 years. Göttingen is located in the middle of Germany and has excellent traffic connections to most sites where the members of our societies are working.
All of you who have already been to Göttingen may be happy to come again and all of you who have not been here yet, will surely keep it in best memories. The conference will take place in the central lecture halls of the University located in walking distance from the old city center and the main railway station.
We cordially invite you to mark the dates of the 2018 German Pharm-Tox Summit in your calendar and inform your students and co-workers about the upcoming event in Göttingen. As always, it will be an excellent opportunity to share cutting edge data and insight, but also to look across one‘s own research topics into the broad spectrum of current research in pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, and toxicology.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Göttingen – the City of Science
